Spring Winds
The spring winds came powerfully in March. So powerfully that the tin roof on the toilet house blew off. It was time to do something drastic, so we put on a layer of OSB (plywood) and asphalt roll roofing. The roof is now extremely solid and will handle anything that Mother Nature will deliver (no tornadoes here).
We have adopted the two dogs our neighbor abandoned. They were starving to death so I finally broke down and succumbed to their pleadings. Fortunately, Jeanie, the "dog lady" who has 14 dogs she has taken in, has a source of free food so the expenses will be confined to vet bills (I must get the little female spayed).
The winter lettuce is almost ready to pick, the herbs are leafing out nicely (love that tarragon!) and the fruit trees are looking happy, although the wind blew the blossoms off so it's doubtful we will get any fruit. The trees are still small anyway, so it is probably for the best.
