Recent activity:
- We had major winds a few weeks ago. There were actually tornados in Riverside County, California. Apparently the winds, though not quite tornado strength were the strongest ever experienced here (Global Warming effects?) The camper which was attached to the trailer with a strap ended up on its side and knocked another camper off its foundation. We were able to do some repairs to the camper and get both campers in place again. We now have two campers available for visitors or participants.
- Additionally, the winds blew off half of the recently installed roofing material on the composting toilet house. We have replacement materials but have not repaired it yet.
- The summer garden is producing squash and lettuce, wild spinach, and herbs. The tomatos are doing well but not bearing yet. We had a nice crop of sweet peas which is now drying up.
- We completed the planting of oleanders for windbreak, except for one plant (local supplies ran out).
- Made some progress burying water pipe. The goal is to complete this before the first hard frost.
Immediate future plans:
- Install a shade structure between the two visitor campers to stabilize them and provide shade
- Finish the large water tank
- Add another branch to the water system to service the visitor campers, and add an additional faucet for watering trees.
- Continue burying the water pipe which runs from the well to the storage tank area.
- Buy MycoGrow to encourage growth of trees, bushes and annuals
- Install a new graywater pipe and composting pit to absorb the graywater.
Best wishes to all you supporters and interested onlookers
-Edwin.
