Progress on Michael's Dome

Progress on the dome has been slow due to other priorities, but we have done some more coating with he asphalt emulsion layer.
Community Garden Update

The monsoon season has made many of our crops grow profusely. Just look at those pumpkin vines! And we have cantalopes and watermelons, not shown, coming along nicely. In fact we picked our first sugar baby watermelon and it was delicious! Also notice how green the hills are now from the monsoon rains.
The flower and herb corner is in full bloom and foliage and provides a beautiful accent to the corner of the garden.

We planted okra for the first time this year. They were old seeds given by a friend so only a few came up. They were barely surviving, only a few inches tall, before the monsoons came. Now look how they are thriving!

The wildflowers are also in full bloom. This Arizona poppy is only one of many different wildflower varieties we are currently enjoying.

Michael's chinaberry trees are growing like weeds. It won't be very long until he has some nice shade outside his windows on the north side.
Other News
- We have been working to re-inforce the swales which were hit very hard with a big deluge. We received about 2 inches in about 1/2 hour, which caused the swales to overflow and "blow out" in a few places.

On the agenda
- Continuing to shore up the swales
- Finish the tar coating on the dome
- General garden maintenance
- Enjoying the harvest!
